TUTORIAL falda voladora!

TUTORIAL falda voladora!

Viernessss!!

Fridayyyy!! And today is Mariona’s turn, from our team of collaborators, with a mega TUTORIAL so you can make a super flying skirt. For this outfit we used 100% cotton fabric and in this case, with the pattern PIRATES, very summery, fresh, nice, cool and comfortable as we all want. And now, if you dare, here is the TUTORIAL STEP BY STEP:

– Measure the waist of the girl (in this case, 49’5 cm) and multiply by 2 (49.5 x 2 = 99 cm), the multiplication result will be the width where to mark and cut. Measure how far we want to reach the long of the skirt and add 8 cm more to the waist and hem end, mark and cut the rectangle that is left.
Make a zigzag with the sewing machine all around the box so that there is no fraying! This is very important.
– We fold the rectangle in half, facing both good faces of fabric and sew with seam allowance of 1 cm. You just made the vertical seam in the part left behind the skirt. We turned 1cm top of the fabric, where it will be elastic waist, put needles and mark it with an iron. Attention, match well the lines of the seams!
– We measure the width of our rubber waist and bend back to add a few millimeters to sew. In this case, the elastic rubber we used has 20mm. We mark with needles and sew, leaving in what will be the part of the skirt behind, 3 cm unstitched to enter the rubber.
– The measure of the rubber has to measure the same as the waist (in this case 49’5 cm) plus 3 cm to sew and close the circle skirt waist. Now pass the rubber. If you do not have a bodkin needle, you can do it by putting a pin in one end of the rubber and patiently went through inside and forth waist.
– After passing the elastic inside, zigzag sew the 2 ends of the rubber, superimposed one above the other. After we distribute the fabric well through the rubber and sew the hem under the skirt to the extent we want or we like. We have the skirt made! If you want a skirt for you, you have to follow the same steps. The most important thing is to measure your waist and multiply by 2 to make it great!
Look how well it is on Emma, the daughter of Mariona. And that has been a gift for a friend who is less than 4 cm waist, but because it is elastic she looks as good as if it was her own… and it gives me the impretion that Mariona woill have to do one for Emma very soon, because there is nothing better than a flying skirt. And if it’s made with this beautiful prints it’s way better, right?
